Situated
in the heart of the old town of Whitby, Shepherd's Purse provides
a perfect base from which to explore the ancient sea
port. Our well appointed and luxurious accommodation
is above the Shepherd's Purse wholefood shop and also in a choice
of galleried rooms overlooking the courtyard and garden.

All of our
rooms are en-suite and have four poster or brass bedsteads and
country furniture, with either a bath or shower. Television,
tea and coffee making facilities are provided.
Our cheaper
rooms share a bathroom with one other room.

Our prices are for accommodation only although breakfast is available in the adjoining restaurant, "Sanders Yard".
Breakfast
in Sanders Yard restaurant includes:

of fresh fruit juices
- Fruit
salad and yoghurt
- Muesli
or cereals

of tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms etc.
- Wholemeal
toast, butter & spreads

Welcoming atmosphere.
Guests are invited to make themselves completely at home, to relax
and enjoy the friendly atmosphere which we find brings many
guests and old friends back to the Shepherd's Purse every holiday.
Fine wines.
A comprehensive wine list offers a fine selection of French, Italian,
organic and country wines.
Pricing: Prices
vary from only £20 to £30 per person per
night. There is a single room supplement of only £5.
Discounts are available for children up to 15 years old. This price does not include breakfast.

We have
a terrific selection of pretty dresses and designer knitwear
set amidst heaps of interesting treasures, both hand
crafted in this country and imported from more exotic locations.
Pottery,
jewellery, basketware, toys and lace all form part of an original
display of goods.

for a healthy diet: A wide selection of beans and grains
- rice, barley etc. flakes and flours. Local and farmhouse cheeses
made with vegetable rennet. Also a wide range of continental
cheeses and dairy foods.
Dried
Fruits, teas & coffee: Dried fruits, bananas, figs,
dates. Nuts, snacks, biscuits and pasta in all shapes and sizes.
Twenty-seven varieties of teas. Fresh coffee beans ground to
your requirements. Healthy wholemeal bread delivered regularly
from a local moorland bakery.

culinary herbs: An extensive range of ingredients for middle and
far eastern dishes e.g. saffron, tamarind, pappadums, chutneys and
basmati rice. Sixty different culinary herbs and a selection of the
most common medicinal herbs.
We have a large
range of cosmetics and natural remedies, homeopathic medicines, vitamins
and mineral supplements.
