All our Cottages are located in Iburndale, Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay This area is truly a jewel in this heritage coastline.

Really well placed for the Moors, with walks in and around Sleights, Goathland, The Hole of Horcum, Grosmont/Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Whitby and the Yorkshire coast are within easy reach. An absolutely ideal base for exploring any of these areas.

Bumblewick Cottages are located close to the beautiful Yorkshire Coast or if you want to escape the crowds completely, the peaceful North York Moors are right on your doorstep - hundreds of miles of fantastic walking in stunning scenery. There are some wonderful picturesque towns and villages along the Yorkshire Coast to explore including Scarborough, Whitby (legend of Dracula, Whitby Abbey), Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.The medieval city of York with its famous minster, city walls, Jorvik Viking Centre, National Railway Museum and York Racecourse are within driving distance. Dalby Forest is a short drive into the National Park. A network of forest roads including the 9 mile Dalby Forest Drive provide access to this outstanding landscape. Formed in the Ice Age and shaped by the people from the Bronze Age to the present day, Dalby is very much a forest worth visiting. For those looking for culture, why not visit Castle Howard, one of England's grandest Baroque mansions and gardens. For steam railway enthusiasts, there is the famous North York Moors Railway which winds through the North York Moors National Park.
Approaching over the moors from Pickering, you drop into the village of Sleights. A right turn by the church leads down into the valley bottom and Iburndale. Over the stream bridge and you have arrived. This is one of the oldest parts of this area having a quaint hamlet appearance. The cottages occupy both a sheltered but sunny positions and have all the charm of an age gone by, but also the facilities expected in quality accommodation. Ample bespoke car parkingChapel Cottage is located in the centre of Fylingthorpe, Fylingthorpe and Robin Hood's Bay merge and is only ½ a mile from the sea and 54 paces from the local family pub. Chapel Cottage has an abundance of roadside parking with the addition of a lovely sheltered southerly country garden to the rear.
Chapel Cottage has all the charm of an age gone by. Wesley was reputed to have preached here in bygone years.
