Whitby Fossils

A collection of close-up images of ammonites and other fossils on the shale beds at Sandsend near Whitby
Fossils on the beach at Whitby were the cause of much excitement for me during my childhood, and I have to confess having hacked at quite a lot of them with large rocks over the years. Once removed from their fixed location they never quite had the same appeal as they did when they were pristine and unbroken gold encrusted treasures, locked in place.

To Make You Smile
I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave. As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin, 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it. I thought to myself, they've lost the plot!!
