Whitby Market

Close-ups of the circular central column which supports the building located in Whitby's Market Square.

Whitby has a lot of weathered stone in it and I've always loved the feel of it - particularly when it's a warm day and the sun has warmed the stone. It has such a wonderful texture. The stone in these pictures is that of the central column of the market square building - one of Whitby's many iconic architectural works.
