The Granby ...

Post by MarionHaste » Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:24 pm

... in Skinner Street has changed hands again. The young couple running it, Carla and Kelvin, have worked hard to brighten the decor a bit before re-opening (the carpeted walls have gone - hoorah!) and the food is pub fare in enormous portions at a reasonable price, which is something Whitby has lacked for a while. And it's dog-friendly.

Good luck to the young pair.

Sounds promising. What is the beer like, Marion?

I'm not a great connoisseur John, but there's Pedigree and Jennings and there look to be regularly-changing guest ales. But I'm a G&T woman - what would I know? ;0)

The Granby has lost its manager yet again - as it seems to do on a regular basis. Kitchen seems to be the same, though, and the dog was still welcome.

We have had some nice meals in the Granby, The only thing that spoils it is Instead of getting a pot of tea you get a cup of water with a tea bag in it. :o
