Looking for the ship Hutton of Whitby

Post by joyzfree » Tue Feb 19, 2008 2:10 pm

Hi,

Apparently my great great great grandfather Thomas Scrafton was a Master Mariner and when he married was on the ship Hutton of Whitby. He was born we think 1824 but between 1804 and 1824, married on 17th August 1845 to Elizabeth Stevenson. Can anybody help me here? Where do I start or look?? Has anybody heard of this ship?

I've just seen this. Did you ever get the info you were looking for?
You would probably get the info you are looking for in the Customs and Excise Registers of Merchant Shipping which are kept in the North Yorkshire Archives in Northallerton.
