whitby workhouse

I am currently in the uk from Australia and trying to find out about the workhouse in Whitby where one of maternal ancestors was born in 1849-51. Mary Wilton mother Ann Wilton. If there is no information I will skip coming over that way. Thanks Jon barton

Whitby workhouse is still going - but as a business centre. Its on the east side of town, on the Ropery.
