Old Electoral Registers

Post by jgharston » Fri Jul 25, 2014 7:40 pm

Does anybody know who holds old Whitby electoral registers/rolls? I'm specifically looking for the 1950s, so that would be the Scarborough & Whitby County Constituency. I know the British Library have copies, but London's a bit too far to go, I was hoping there would be somewhere closer. I've trawled through the North Yorks country council libraries website trying to track down definitive information, but to no avail.

Try the library.

I'm not 100% but they do have a reference section which contains long varying lists of names which may be electorial roles. Whether they are and whether they are that recent I don't know.
