My tumty-tumpty-grandparents' family are Chambers. My Whitby family tree includes Harker, Marsay, Walker and Chambers. See http://mdfs.net/User/JGH/Docs/FamilyTree

I am fairly sure all the Chambers in my family are from Whitby, so unless your Henry's family originally moved to York from the Whitby area there may not be a connection.

I have a famous unknown ancestor in George Chambers, 1803-1840, maritime artist.

Hi I am related to George Chambers too - my last surname link is my Gr Grandmother Annie Chambers - we did have two original paintings in the family but they were sold in 1950s - wish we still had them! ( I have family in sheffield too)
Kind regards
Karen
