Esk Belle II gone

Got something to say about Whitby that doesn't really fit in the other categories? Then say it in here.

Esk Belle II gone

Post by DaveGraham » Sat Jul 14, 2012 6:27 pm

Hi folks,

I see that Whitby Coastal Cruises, the company that runs pleasure trips on the Esk Belle II, have disposed of her. Apparently, it departed to Tenby on 12th July. It has been replaced by two smaller craft - the Esk Belle III (formerly "Island Cruise" at Tenby) and Kerrera (formerly at Oban). Each can carry about 60 passengers.

Shame to see the other boat go, but the company reckon that having the two smaller boats makes their operation more flexible. The Specksioneer is away on a major refit at the moment, apparently.

Cheers,

Dave

Sorry to hear about this. I thought I hadn't seen her on the webcam for a while, and wondered where she'd gone.
