Re: Whitby Fish and Chips

I quite like the Railway Chippy - a nice local chip shop, not a tourist place. Just had a look at their website and notice that they do delivery, looks good will give it a try. Thank you. Somehow I don't think they'll deliver to Kent   didn't manage to get there in the end but had...

Re: Sunday Lunch

Well, we ended up in the Wheatsheaf in Egton. Booked up on the Thursday before we travelled up on the Saturday. Absolutely fantastic Sunday Lunch for £12.50. Chose a mixture of pork and beef which was served with 2 Yorkshire puddings, gravy and about 11 or 12 different vegetables! Thanks so much for...

Thank you. I'll let you know where we end up!

Sunday Lunch

So following on from my fish and chip thread we'll be coming to Whitby for a week in June and will be looking for somewhere that does a good Sunday lunch at a reasonable price, either in Whitby itself or not too far away. Preferably somewhere that doesn't have too many steps as our daughter is curre...

Re: Whitby Fish and Chips

Riverside Fisheries was particularly bad, (tasted like the oil hadn't been changed all week ended up throwing it away!)

I can get far better tasting fish from my local chippie in Kent!

Whitby Fish and Chips

On my last few visits I have been very disappointed with the fish and chips offered by the following :

Trenchers
Mr Chips
Riverside Fisheries

only reasonable and have had better :

Quayside

So where else would people suggest for best for Eating In and best for takeaway?

Re: Research for book set in Whitby... Can anyone help?

Whitby's situation on the North East coast is quite unique.

If you are on the West Cliff and look out to sea you are looking almost due North.

For this reason you can see both the sunrise and sunset from the West Cliff.

Thanks, I have so many photos of Whitby, so I tried to take some this year from different angles/positions and I was quite pleased with the results.
