As you can tell already, you'll be lucky to get anything, but Goths who have to cancel at the last minute sometimes post on the Whitby Goth Weekend forum and I've also seen accommodation owners use it in the past to fill suddenly vacant properties. Might be worth a try, anyway. http://forum.topmum.c...

That's what t'Gazette said this week - at The Big A. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/30/30303/Big_Angel/Whitby Should be interesting - someone told me this week they had paid £3.50 for a pint of bitter in a Whitby pub this week, which they said is higher than London prices. Not the pubs' faul...

I totally agree - or, indeed, The Duke. I know they both do food, but dogs just sit under the table and nod off anyway. They're no trouble and Whitters is such a dog place these days, it seems commercially daft to me to exclude them. Heigh ho. Yes, indeed, The Ship is the long thin one which also ha...

There were plenty of dog-walkers sitting outside in the sun last night at The Dolphin on the bridge, albeit well-wrapped. I'm not sure if hounds are allowed inside. There are also sitting-out opportunities all along the quayside now, which may be new since your last visit. You can sit outside The Mo...

Passage to India is right near the station - not the Indian restaurant in the station itself, but on the road which runs alongside it. The Magpie now has a lift in its take-away which gives access to the restaurant next door, but its loos remain unreachable and as the lift only leads to the bar area...

It must be the one that was a juice bar then, bizarrely, a juice bar and photo gallery. If you are thinking of starting a venture, be careful of the footfall down there - it can be a little tricky. Those two both only lasted a few months or weeks.

Will try and remember to note the number.

Beyond that no, I'm afraid. Most Goths book year to year and no-one gives up their room in case they don't get back in. Have you thought about camping/caravan sites?
