I have visited my granny in Whitby every summer for as long as I can remember. What's usually really special for me is that my birthday (4th August) is around the time of the regatta. We moved to Aberdeenshire 2 years ago and this years regatta falls after my children have returned to school and so for the first time in decades we shall not be able to attend. Please could the oragnisers give Scottish school holiday dates consideration when scheduling this fantastic event. |

Hello! I wisited Whitby last october, with my Grandfather. And as soon as I came home to Finland I started planning for my next trip there. So in august I will come again, if everything works out as it should. This time I might bring a friend or two with me, weŽll see.
But Žtil then: take care! |

Every year we pick a different holiday in yorkshire and always make it a practice not to do the same place twice.
this is the fourth year we have visited our lovely Whitby and are not ashamed to admit that we were wrong.!
people are very welcoming, and the food is great, fish and chips or not . no finer place for us WHITBY< WE LOVE YOU see you soon(again) |

came down whitby with mates for the may bank holiday, was expectin a decent time with a few bars, but bloody hell what a weekend, loads of bars all of them good atmosphere and laughton nightclub is pretty decent too, shame about the camp sites all fully booked so we had to sleep in a field but that wasnt a problem. We will be back for more this weekend as its all arranged so bar taps and ladies of whitby ypu have been warned - over and out |

I am looking to rent a two or three bedroom property in or around Robin Hoods Bay. I would prefer to have a garden and garage. I will require it from about march of 2006. I am not quite sure of the area but i would prefer somewhere Semi rural. |

My wife and I always make a point to visit Whitby twice a year. The shops on the Abbey side of the harbour are splendid and we always treat oursleves to a fine meal of fish and chips at the Magpie Cafe. You may have to queue to get in but believe me....the wait is well worth the while, you won't regreat it! There is an excellent fish shop called the Whitby Catch just up from Bridge street toward the harbour entrance which is worth a visit. They will package your selection on ice for your trip home. Whitby is a must visit if you are in the North East. |

To those of you who love Whitby - and that's pretty much everybody who puts an entry here - please go to the ''forum'' site and read the message I've posted about the shameful way Scarborough Borough Council (which is in charge of Whitby)plans to ruin
our lovely sweep of colourful beach-chalets....thanks. |

We visited Whitby in Sept''99, originally because we fell in love with the village after watching Heartbeat. We stayed for a week, over at the bottom of the Abbey stairs, and loved the place. I live in Australia, but would love to house-swap with anyone who lives in the old section, below the Abbey. Cant wait to return one day, love Ya Whitby xx x |

I fell in love with Whitby summer 1998 whilest spending some quality thinking time at my aunts, who had moved there.I have spent a great deal of time there since, with another family members whom have relocated, something I am hoping to do as soon as possible. I find that Whitby is a place that provides a release from the understated modern demanding life that we live. True family traditions surrounded by a beautiful backdrop enhances with a fresh sea breeze give you a new start to each day to tackle what life deals us. |

After hearing many a good story of Whitby Folk Week, I gave it go this year. A completely enjoyable and relaxing break. My two year old son loved it. There's plenty to see and do and even a pleasant, clean beach to build sand castles on. We camped at the Whitby Holiday Park, which has an excellant location (if you don't mind a little walk) and incredibly scenic. However the facilities are very dated and grotty, so I thought it was very over priced.
Would definately recommend a break or a day trip to Whitby, where I'll undoubtably be return soon. |
