Comment:   We stayed here with our 3 children in August and would highly recommend it. The location is idyllic with beautiful views and such peace and quiet. The caravan was exceptionally clean, with everything we needed and the play equipment was safe, close by and perfect for our children of varying ages. They are usually wary of dogs, but soon fell in love with Ivy, who often came down to see us and enjoyed a game of fetch. Sue was an amazing host and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even put herself out to help us when we had car troubles, for which we are immensely grateful as it saved our holiday. She went over and above with other little touches too & it made the holiday that bit more special. The only other thing to mention is the double bed in the caravan - it's the comfiest we've ever slept on. Thanks again Sue.

Comment:   What an amazing place to stay! Great views, peace and quiet but near enough to get to Whitby easily. Sue made me and my family feel very welcome and was always on hand if we needed anything. Accommodation was spotless and very well equipped. My children loved the location on the farm and found the cows very interesting. The playpark on site was great and they made a very good relationship with Ivy the farm dog! Thankyou for a lovely holiday Sue.

Comment:   We have stayed at York Lodge on four separate occasions. My family and I keep returning each year due to the amazing peaceful location, the outstanding views and the first class hospitality provided by Sue and her family. We are always made to feel so welcome. The caravans are more than adequate for my three children and I, it's like a home from home. Sue's homemade scones are to die to for and the caravan is immaculately clean with fresh bedding and fully equipped kitchen. Even on rainy days the children were kept well occupied with boardgames, toys and dvds supplied in the caravan. The location is very ideal, Whitby is a 15 minute drive away , Goathland 10 minutes and Egton 5 mins away. The location is unreal, the only way I can describe the valley is ''My heaven on Earth''. I would highly recommend York Lodge for a peaceful family getaway. I can't wait to come back!

Comment:   Absolutely amazing stay- we’ve just returned from a weeks stay and what a tranquil and beautiful place it is. Just what we needed! Everything was so clean and tidy and very reassuring since the pandemic. Unfortunately due to this we weren’t able to sample any of Sue’s baking or cooking but Sue respected social distancing yet still checked in on us to see if there was anything more we needed. Sue is so friendly and welcoming and the near by ‘mooing’ of the cows as you wake up gives it that extra welcome! We loved our stay as a family of 4 and two dogs, we will definitely be back in future! Thankyou Sue

Comment:   We had such an amazing stay here! It is so tranquil and peaceful with stunning views. The caravan was very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Sue the owner was very accomodating, friendly and hospitable. My little boy loved Ivy the dog and he loved it so much he didn't want to leave. If you have children it is ideal as the play area is great and they will love the animals on the farm. For a working farm it was extremely quiet and as you can tell we would love to stay again. The village of Glaisdale is beautiful and you are very close to Whitby, Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay. They drive through the North Yorkshire Moors is lovely and upon the recommendation of Sue, we visited Rosedal and Hutton Le Hole. As a family we highly recommend!

Comment:   We stayed in one of the caravans for a week and were happy with our choice of the location - close to Whitby and other coastal towns and in the middle of the scenic countryside. The views from the caravan were amazing, with the added bonus of the dozens of friendly cows quietly grazing on the surrounding fields. It is a relaxing place to come back to after a day out. The caravan was clean, and the owner, Sue, very helpful. Highly recommended.

Comment:   Just returned from a week in beautiful North Yorkshire. Our Holiday was completed by staying in one of Sue's superbly comforable caravans, we were welcomed with delicious fresh cream scones with strawberries, and a nice bottle of Merlot. Sue is an excellent cook and we enjoyed a superb meal delivered freshly cooked to our door (Yorkshire portion's, order dessert if you dare!) It was great to watch the working's of a busy farm while we were in the Caravan, and it was an excellent base to explore the local area. We loved Whitby, and hope we will be able to return to York Lodge again next year. Thank you Sue for an unforgettable holiday.

Comment:   Have just returned from a weeks break at Sue's 3 bedroom caravan. First the views are stunning, quiet and relaxing but as others have said Whitby and surrounding areas are easily reached. The welcome was lovely..as were the home baked scones!! A lovely base to return to after a day out. Caravan offered everything needed for a comfortable stay. Playground much appreciated by Thomas (3) and Tilly (2). Thanks Sue we enjoyed our break

Comment:   Can you keep a secret, this is the most wonderful of places to stay. We have just had a rotten weeks weather here, but could not care less. Its because Sue was just the best. Her vans are clean and tidy with lots of little touches to make it feel more like home. they say little things make a difference , well let me tell you they meant a lot. yes there were chocs on the pillows and hotel style shower and soaps, but the nicest part were the meals Sue cooked for us. What a gem she is nothing was to much trouble. All I can say is a Big Thank you.

Comment:   Just spent the weekend at the smaller caravan and loved it. Cosy, clean, beautiful views and great location. Having read the reviews on Sue's meals we ordered lamb roast and apple pie. Healthy, Yorkshire servings complete with 2 yorkshire puds, loads of yummy lamb and veg and scrumtious home made pie ....... Perfect......the free house wine just topped it off. Couldn't fault our stay. Sue if we don't buy a caravan we will be back. Thanks.

Comment:   Two old folks - we've just returned from a most relaxing stay in one of Sue and Martin's extremely well-equipped caravans. The views in such a beautiful dale were magnificent. Sue really made our stay with a warm welcome together with her renowned scones and bottle of wine! For two evenings we ordered Sue's meals - what a lamb shank and delicious roast potatoes! Her puddings are to die for. Try that pavlova! Thank you so much Sue. We were sorry to leave and would love to come back.

Comment:   We have just had the best stay in caravan ever. We would like to thank Sue for her superb skills of looking after us at her caravan site. we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a lovely tray of strawberry scones with excellent cream. We had 2 meals prepared & served by Sue and they were both 1st Class and not expensive at all. Sue Thank You once again for looking after us so well and hope to see you again in the future.

Comment:   We have just returned from our week long stay at York House Farm and cannot recommend it highly enough, the views are simply stunning and Sue was a wonderful host and even went as far as to bring a smaller slide outside the caravans for our one year old, unlike larger caravan sites Sue goes the extra mile to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, fresh cream scones (which my husband assures me were very tasty) and milk, the chocolates on our pillows were also an unexpected treat. The caravan itself was clean and well presented and had everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday (though I'd steer clear of The provided Monopoly game if you want an early night!). This caravan was perfectly situated a short drive from Whitby, far enough away to ensure a peaceful break but not so far that you feel as though you have spent most of your day driving from pillar to post. We would happily book again here and are already discussing when another trip may be possible. For anyone looking for a peaceful break, with beautiful scenery, oodles of fresh air, a friendly, welcoming host and a lovely caravan then this is the place to be. We look forward to another visit, my sincere apologies for the mix up about leaving times!

Comment:   We stayed last year and had a wonderful time! I was telling a relative about it today and it's inspired me to come online and look at it again for this year- and leave a well deserved positive review in the process. The place is just beautiful, you can sit outside the front of your caravan on the decking and enjoy a glass of wine with the scenery and it's wonderfully calm and quiet. It close enough to Whitby to not be an arduous drive there, but it was far enough out to be quiet and peaceful. We were greeted on arrival with homemade scones from our host, and one night we ordered a meal too- the most amazing sausage and yorkshire pudding I've ever had! We still talk about it! The caravan itself was great, nice and clean. We paid extra to allow our dog to come with us which was hugely appreciated. The caravan had a great hoover so we could hoover each day to keep on top of the dog hair. Lots of space for the 2 of us and the german shepherd. There was a thunderstorm one night and that sounded amazing on the roof of the caravan, and at night because you're in the countryside the sky is completely dark and you can see all the stars. We had a great time and I have, and will continue to, recommend to friends and family, and as soon as we can we will go back. Huge thanks to the host.

Comment:   Just returned from a week in the 3 bedroom caravan and it was absolutely fantastic, Sue was a brilliant host who could not do enough to make our holiday perfect. We were welcomed with bottle of wine, milk and freshly baked scones with fresh cream and strawberrys, you don't get that welcome at these fancy family caravan parks! Lovely part of the world with fantastic panoramic views which are breathtaking. We are already discussing when to go back as it would be a shame only to experience it the once. Thanks again Sue x

Comment:   Our visit to York House was every bit as good as the photos on this page, we were blessed with lovely weather, enabling us to fully appreciate the beautiful scenery. The caravan, welcome and extra bonus of having some meals cooked for us added to our enjoyment of our first visit to this lovely part of Yorkshire, another of this county's gems. Having stayed on several farms we both rate this one Exceptional.
