The Sandbeck is a prime sited, sea-front guest house and is just a “stone’s throw” from the famous Whale bone Arch and the Captain Cook memorial statue. We are ideally placed for all the West Cliff amusements, the cliff lift, Pavilion & Spa complex whilst being within easy walking distance of the harbour and town centre, and about 20 minutes walking distance from Whitby Abbey and Visitor Centre on the East Cliff. The Sandbeck is a family run private guest house and we pride ourselves on the personal quality of service to our guests. The Sandbeck is FULLY non-smoking. Strictly no bookings will be taken for hen/stag parties or single sex groups of 4 or more, flouting of this rule will result on arrival of your deposits being forfit. However walking, golf or cycling groups please call for packages we can offer. We are pleased to be able to offer the following: 23 bedrooms; the choice includes 2 suites, 1 four poster, premium (double & single), superior & standard rooms. 17 of the bedrooms have sea-views. All rooms are fully en suite and we also offer generous hospitality baskets and toiletries as standard. All rooms have colour televisions. Some disabled facilities available ie emergency strobe lighting, vibrating under pillow warning, tap turners, shower stool and bath assistance support handle. Please note we are unable to take wheelchairs for non-ambulant persons due to the number of steps to the front of the building. By road from the South (A171) from Scarborough (or via A169 from Pickering & Sleights, and A171) then follow West Cliff signs. By train to Scarborough thence by bus to Whitby or from Middlesbrough on the Esk Valley railway. We are just a short taxi ride (or a 10 minute walk) from both the bus and train stations.
